I spoke at Church of Southland yesterday… Pastor Keith was gracious enough to open up his pulpit to me. More than blessing the people with God’s Word, they blessed me with their desires to love God and to live out the Gospel message.
This past Sunday was pretty special because one of the pastors (Pastor Eddie) and his wife officially adopted a little baby girl. It was an incredible testimony. This baby was born into this world as an unwanted child – the mother didn’t want anything to do with the baby. But thank God that the woman did not abort the baby. Pastor Eddie and Min felt called to adopt the child even though they had two of their own.
How would the baby respond and adjust in this world as she grew older? What kinds of emotions would she feel knowing that she was an unwanted baby and that her mother abandoned her?
This is when the Gospel message has to be lived out.
Now as this baby girl grows up in a loving Christ-centered home, she will know the love of the heavenly Father. She will know that she will never be abandoned. She will know that she is wanted and desired. She will know that she will be cared for and loved.
Haven’t we experienced these things because God has adopted us into this family? It is truly incredible.
“How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!” (1 John 3:1)
