We had our Experiencing Membership class this past Saturday at HMCC of Chicago. Since we don’t have our own facilities, we ended up renting out the downstairs of a café near the Northwestern campus (a blessing in disguise). It brought a great atmosphere for this class. We had an open tab for people to get drinks and there were couches for us to relax. In this kind of chilled environment, I talked about the vision and the mission of the church.
I think this is one of my favorite classes to teach in our church. It just reminds me about my purpose and focus in life. There were several times within the class when I was getting choked up as I thought how the Church is the only organization that can truly transform lives and transform the world.
The vision of transformation is definitely something we can give our lives to – unapologetically and without reservations!
