$2.1 Million to Eat with Someone?

I was reading an article the other day that caught my attention, not only because it dealt with Warren Buffett, the richest man in the world but that there was someone who was willing to pay $2.1 million dollars to just have lunch with him. Is this crazy or what?!

Zhao Danyang, a Chinese investment fund manager won a bid on eBay, which happened to be the most expensive charity auction held to date. Buffett have been auctioning off lunches online in order to support the Glide Foundation. Last year, the winning bid was for $650,100.

The bids supposedly go so high because Buffett is not only a well-sought after man but he only offers one lunch a year. Most business people would be willing to pay this kind of price because they value the importance of being able to “pick his brain” about his investment philosophy and his success in the financial world.

I was just thinking, how much am I willing to pay, in order to have a lunch with someone that I wanted to learn from. I guess having the person’s full attention in order to pick their brain and to have them impart things to you is probably priceless.
